Is it me or is the cost of school supplies getting way out of hand?! My oldest is going into 6th grade and we had to buy her an algebra calculator that cost $99. Thank goodness for grandparents! After all of the folders, binders, paper, glue, colored pencils, batteries (yeah batteries) paper towels...etc..it was insanely ridiculous. When I was in school (okay, three decades ago mind you) but all we needed was a folder a notebook and a pencil. Never used a calculator which I would have been thrilled to use. I just can't believe it. Someday a laptop will be on the list. I just know it...
Beginning in August 2012 I am honored to donate a percentage of the proceeds from every kindle story that I sell to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) a foundation whose mission is to prevent child abduction and sexual exploitation; offer help find missing children; and to assist victims of abduction and sexual exploitation, their families, and the professionals who serve them.
As a Parent, a Daycare provider, and a Christian, I think it's important to do what's right to help stop this abuse. If anyone else is interested in making a donation here is the website =
